We branded MotaWord as the “world’s fastest human translation platform”. And we are very serious on fulfilling that promise. One of the things that really impacted our speed was notifying our translators of new translation projects.
On a platform like MotaWord, where speed in accessing a new project is often times key in being able to participate in it, many of our translators complained about not getting project notification e-mails on time. As a matter of fact, MotaWord translation projects below 1,000 words often get completed within minutes and any issues with e-mail transmission creates a disadvantage for many of our translators.
Unbeknownst to many, e-mail notifications can really be tricky. Depending on the e-mail server loads (on the receiving or transmitting party) or any glitch that the servers might be experiencing, there might be significant delays in receiving e-mails. This delay - as we have often seen - can result in a translator getting a notification from us with sometimes half an hour to 1-hour delay.
We have heard it one too many times and decided to find a better solution to notify our translators of translation projects as they become available on MotaWord.
Twitter turned out to be the best solution to this problem. Going forward our translators will receive a notification for many of the translation projects ordered online (not all - as some of our projects are by invitation only) by our clients. The only thing necessary in order to receive these notifications is a Twitter account and following @MotaWord so as to receive our notifications.
As an extension to this, our Facebook account will also mimic these Twitter notifications. We would like to thank the few translators who have given us this idea and requested this functionality from us. It is a privilege working with you to make our platform better.
